Jungle!!! *Quickly logs out of forum*Somehow I think that song will be very low on the 'to do' list of songs.... Well, Timeblue , we all know this whole thread is a huge fantasy, but if we are going to go realistic, let's start by the fact that a "to do" list of Jeff Lynne's ELO songs might include at most 2 or 3 items, if any at all. Jeff has the most predictable setlists I've ever seen on an artist, so you can bet your life on "Jungle" and a fair amount of other songs never making a live setlist and sleep with no worries every night.

I think if we can put a poll up on here with some serious nominations, maybe word can get back....heres hoping.

"Illusions in G Major", especially with a real horn section.

The hits that have never been played live - Diary of Horace Wimp, I'm Alive, Xanadu, Don't walk away, Getting to the point, Four little diamonds have I missed any? I'd love to hear Don't Walk Away live, what always annoyed me about the studio version is that they fade the guitar solo too early! Was Across The Border ever played on the OOTB Tour?

I think most of the best live rarities have been covered already by previous posters, personally I'd be chuffed to hear anything out of the ordinary. Probably the lively sort though, like Across the Border or Twilight. Or what about Nightrider? There's also a case to be made for some more laid-back tracks from Armchair Theatre, like Lift Me Up or Now You're Gone.

My ultimate would be Summer and Lightning though that's far fetched I guess.
More realistically I think Twilight would be amazing live.

My ultimate would be Summer and Lightning though that's far fetched I guess. It would be 19,998 people going outside for a drink, a cigarette or to the toilet and you and me cheering, singing and dancing like mad.

To the best of my knowledge, ATB has never been played live. I don't know what in the world Jeff could be thinking! GRRRR! ATB is the song I'd choose to hear live, if I had to narrow the list down. However, I hated Showdown and Ma Ma Ma Belle for years until I heard Jeff play them live so I wish he'd play the songs I hate. If he'd play Train of Gold, or Endless Lies, or Letter From Spain I might appreciate them more. On the other hand, Illusions in G Major would be amazing to hear live as well. What a fantastic song! I wish Jeff would play songs for the true fans, I don't know about all of you but the songs I like best are not his greatest hits. I wish he'd play the lesser known stuff.

You know for all the joking regarding Jungle I honestly think it would be a real crowd pleaser. All Jeff's backing vocalists making the animal sounds, rocking beat, and a great sing-a-long song chorus, would be guaranteed to get the crowd off their bums! Plus I can imagine some great visuals on the big screens to accompany it!
But other songs I'd really like to hear live...the remaining Xanadu songs, Kuiama, Misson (ANWR)!

I would have chosen Hello My Old Friend, but I reckon its experimental breakdown section might not keep the interest of anyone beyond the most hardcore fans, so I'll go with The Diary Of Horace Wimp instead... Besides, I've always wanted to see Richard going crazy with his vocoder!
