Well, that was exactly my point. i would take a shallow, beautiful girl without thinking twice about it. But would you be girlfriends on a long relationship with a shallow beautiful girl? It can get quite unpleasant, boring and annoying to share your life with those kinds. After you've had what you were looking for you'll typically wish they transformed themselves into a pizza.

As a young teen, I always thought that Mel was adorable. I had a little crush on him, probably because of his youthful face. He also seemed shy and quiet (I guess next to Hugh, anyone would!)--basically cute and non-threatening to my rather shy teenage self. I found out later from reading Bev's book that Mel was quite the talker and very much a flirt (with the infamous "Melvyn Gale arm") during his time with ELO! You never know! Having never read the book, I want to know more about "the infamous 'Melvyn Gale arm'". Please, share! Eloise, here's the story of Mel and his arm. Reproduced from Bev's book.

I'm amazed that Mel is 65 - I know Jeff and Bev are old codgers now but somehow Mel always seemed eternally youthful.

So let's start off from when I was little, I used to be mad on two boy bands both of which I have seen live first was Busted and then McFly. I used to fancy Charlie out of Busted To the point where I named one of my bears Charlotte after him Then I fancied Harry out of McFly I named another bear I had after him When I was in my teens (not so long ago I know), I discovered this man A crush which has never gone away Then a few months ago I discovered my god this man is attractive Mr Michael Palin of the Monty Python fame, also known for his travelling programmes

I think you have. I understand you feel more physically attracted to girls. What I don't get is why you "have to find the beauty inside". Why "have to"? I mean, what forces you to do so or why do you feel compelled to do so?

I think you have. I understand you feel more physically attracted to girls. What I don't get is why you "have to find the beauty inside". Why "have to"? I mean, what forces you to do so or why do you feel compelled to do so? men are just not as physically attractive to me. i mean, i can appreciate a good looking guy and plenty of them are, but i've never just laid eyes on a guy and thought "wow, i simply must have him right now!" it takes more time for me to have those feelings for a man, which means getting to know him. i've always been "one of the guys" and so when it's like that, and it's always been a friendship thing with that particular sex, it takes those moments when some special something stands out in them for that sort of love to come about. i've never gotten along with girls really. all throughout my school years all my friends were guys. on this very day, i have only one friend who is a girl that i haven't shared a sexual encounter with. those others with which i am friends, despite how attracted i may be to them, i don't want to take it to the relationship level. plus, it seems there is something about me as well where it's not just on my part, the girls i've been with have never wanted to take it to the next level with me either. in fact there was a time i fell in love with a girl, and when i told her, she just laughed at me and said "that's cute." it may be that because of how that one perfect girl hurt me, that i stop myself before i can fall in love with a woman. and being such a tomboy it's hard to get around feeling awkward around girls. even talking to a girl in a supermarket who i'm not even attracted to, i just feel out of place and that i don't "measure up" to what being a girl is all about. guys just seem to get me so much better and i get them too. so yeah, it's complicated and i could probably keep speculating on this but, i think i've said enough for now.
