Yeah, we did get in. Your statement made me doubt but I remember. We even went out a balcony to have a panoramic view, then we went through a room where you had to be silent because people were reading.

Yeah! I can't remember the guy being there though, but I was so marvelled by the view that maybe he was and I didn't notice.
What I remember is stumbling upon that piece of stone while we were running from the rain.

What I remember is stumbling upon that piece of stone while we were running from the rain. That graffiti on the pavement, what did it say something like "Jeff Lynne woz 'ere"

Look, Horacewimp , I've found photographic evidence that we got inside the library indeed, as well as of a few places that are shown in Bev's video: The library from outside. Under the shelter of the library's roof. The statue on the background (left) I think is the man I was talking about, the one with a stick in his hand. On the balcony. Inside! And we hadn't forced our way in... not as far as I can remember... not to that building at least. Man, was I skinny then! After paying for the plane, the trains and the hotels there was no money left for food it seems. The Parthenon-like building. The Parthenon-like building and the tower with the clock that's also shown in Bev's video. Queen Victoria, isn't it?

The Parthenon-like building is the Town Hall, that is Queen Victoria she stands in Victoria Square. The statue in the distance by the library is Edward VII I think he was important in the Industrial Revolution

At least Edward VII didn't receive the generic "important guy from the Industrial Revolution".

I was looking for a video of the next episode which went out on Sunday but can't find anything yet, in the mean time I found this not sure if it has been posted before, haven't had time to watch it yet but looks interesting.

ah Birmingham! So very, very many of my favourite musicians are from there. As well as my favourite painter! This comes from a US Midwesterner!

Episodes two and three are finally available to watch on catch up. Episode two is North Birmingham they nearly get to my house but not quite, episode three is South Birmingham and contains a few ELO songs, I think they even used Jeff's re-recorded version of Mr Blue Sky www.madeinbirmingham.tv/catchup/?c=entertainment&p=x4uqp8

I also noticed the remake of Mr. Blue Sky being used, but did anyone else spot Bev describing Eldorado as ELO's third album - whatever happened to On The Third Day?

A very nice interview. I'd love to hear one like it with Jeff but unfortunately any interview he gives these days will feature talk about Harrison and Orbison rather than the old Brum days.
Nice to hear Paul Carrack get a mention here!

Who is your favourite painter from Birmingham? I can only find this one: Steven Cronin. He taught me lots! I've just checked out some of his watercolours they look good and some local ones to me, Sutton Park is just down the road.
