Sorry to butt-in in a clear women subject, but I'd like to have my say. I have big foot (no, not the monster... if I had it I would have already exchanged it to the zoo for a couple of llamas) and it's a huge problem each time I need to get shoes, of any kind. Leather shoes to use with the suit, sports shoes, casual... all are very hard to find in big size. And it's 46, nothing extraordinary for example for the American market, which is full of shoes that size and much larger too, but in Argentina they are very rare and most shoe shops don't sell that size. On top of everything, I've had 4 surgeries on each foot and as a result they are now considerably deformed, so of the already very limited stock that suits me, a good amount is way too uncomfortable for me. This means at times I have to rake all of the north area of Buenos Aires to find a pair of suits that fits me. Seriously, you don't know the amount of time I've spent searching for shoes. When I find a pair my size which is comfortable enough I buy it with no further pretensions, except in case it is extremely ridiculous in aspect, like some sports shoes that have fluorescent colours. Where am I going with all this? jiminyjellysolo , you said that you can know lots of things about a person by just looking at his shoes. Well, that would be if a person has plenty of options to choose from; but in my case you would surely misjudge me because the only thing you can know through my shoes is that they were the only decent pair I could find my size.

well that is no good at all, Helmut83. four surgeries in each foot? i can't imagine. if there were shoe gods i'd sacrifice a pair in your honor. and i didn't even think that this would be a thread more suited for females. but i guess women are usually a little more crazy about their shoe collection than most men. i do know guys who can rock a pair of converse like nobody's business though.

Being able to wear any old shoes I like is something I take for granted. I'm Sorry you have to go through so much pain with your feet Helmut83 that sounds very unpleasant.

Here's the Vlog collection. Starting from the top: These little polka dot daps are very comfortable in summer. I've nicknamed them my "Hux Puppies", after Orchestra man P. Hux, who usually wears a polka dot shirt on stage. Second shelf, left - these are Rieker shoes, really comfortable, great if you spend a lot of your day running around. I once owned a floral pair which I wore for years. They're still in the back of my cupboard, but they're not really fit to be seen since the time I landed in a ditch while trekking through parkland. Second shelf, right: can't resist denim-look shoes. Found these in Primark, years ago. I bought two pairs, since shops have a habit of discontinuing any range I really like. (And, yep, you can't get them any more.) This pair is the second, the first are keeping my floral trainers company in the back of the cupboard. Bottom, left: these were plain little red daps until I stitched the roses on. So I've a soft spot for them. Bottom, right: another charity shop bargain, these denim-look kitten heels only cost about £1. Soles and toes have been fixed quite a few times, over the years. So, not a clog in sight... but plenty to choose from when dancing round the table when DJ Bill plays THAT song.

Well, I really don't think about it when I have a complete stock of shoes working (normally comprised by a couple of shoes pairs, a pair of casual shoes and one for sports and treking... I manage with very little as you can see), but whenever a pair gets old and I have to go out to find another one to replace it, I want to shoot myself in the foot (literally).

Uhm... so far the only photographic proof we've got -feet over the desk- indicates so. Until we don't see a photo of you working like an ox, suffocated by the amount of tasks to be done and sweating under the pressure we have no reasons to believe you.

Helmut83 having feet trouble with all that hiking you enjoy! Tk6 is the opposite, has small feet. I too love those denim kitty’s, vlogdance . Neat editions of ‘Lord Of The Rings’. Who’s the publisher? Read ‘Thrones….’ when first released in 1996, fun. Back to shoes. Lovely, shiny shoes Horacewimp . Remember, your days of working like a rented mule are almost over!

vlogdance, your shoes collection seems lovely, but I'm more impressed by your books collection. Richard Russo's "Empire Falls" sounds like a very interesting book, to name one. BSJ, yeah, but fortunately I've got comfortable shoes now, and other than the sporadic trouble I have once or twice a year I'm OK and I can enjoy hiking.

I adore those vintage denim kitten heels. I was going to say that! They're fab. And it also looks as if vlogdance has really cute small-sized feet, the total opposite of Helmut83 who is struggling with his troublesome titanic tootsies.
