The Birmingham market is the largest outside of Germany or Austria it is massive, you can get coach trips here from various parts of the country to visit it. Plays havoc though with the city centre makes it too busy. www.thebfcm.co.uk/

Do you usually visit the German market, Horacewimp? Is there any particular good you have acquired there, or any particularly good food you have eaten? Or do you usually stay away from the buzz?

Do you usually visit the German market, Horacewimp? Is there any particular good you have acquired there, or any particularly good food you have eaten? Or do you usually stay away from the buzz? I usually make one visit especially in the past with the kids they liked all the lights, the sausages and chocolate covered marshmallows are good but the beer is expensive rubbish. The stalls are ok to look around but they continue to sell the same stuff year after year. I do like the singing moose’s head above the bar, I usually plan my visit to coincide with the lads Xmas sing song night.

The beer is rubbish? That must be embarrassing for the Germans, who promote themselves as the best brewers.

Yes. I do believe the shots of the woods are some of the best I've seen in a long time. The fence! It's a wonderland.
You had great weather. The cannon shot is a favorite.
Looks like that monkey was happy to see you again! But why is his paw on top his hand?

Where's the castle, is it Chepstow? Well spotted it is Chepstow castle. Looks like that monkey was happy to see you again! But why is his paw on top his hand? Even though the sun was out there was a cold wind so maybe he was keeping it warm, saves on having to wear gloves.

Magnificent photos as always from Horacewimp . Mysterious and spooky trees with masses of atmosphere, a peep at beautiful Weston-Super-Mare and gorgeous views of the blueness of Gibraltar (just what we need on a cold day like today). And in-between, is that Horace on the dodgems?

And in-between, is that Horace on the dodgems? It’s one up from a dodgem, it’s an electric go cart

Wow, those pictures of the forest are stunning, Horacewimp! What a gorgeous place, I'd totally love to visit. The name "Super-Mare" left me wondering, it brings mental imagines of a female horse superhero, kind of an equine She-ra. It seems like you had to downgrade the Discovery you used to drive! Not that it doesn't suit you, particularly the color! After so many visits to Gibraltar I'm sure the monkeys must consider you one of their own.

As some of you kind forumheads know, I had a birthday last Friday. To celebrate, I took a day trip to the city of Bath, in the west of England. Here are some of the highlights of the day: First building I encountered. That moment when you feel at home in a new city. I wasn't the only visitor, that day. (These young people were drawing attention to the problem of climate change.) The Royal Crescent, the most famous street in Bath. This seemed an excellent place to meet a stranger. So now we know where Richard and Dave go on their nights off. Visited the Post Office Museum. Dial M for Meadow. How about this for a window box? "Oh, oh, telephone line, give me some thyme..." City lights. The Christmas market was in full swing.
