Where did you stay Horace? We stayed in Ilkley, we did a two and a half hour driving tour of the moors and stopped in Skipton for a look around the one day and went to Harrogate on the second day on our journey home. It was a little wet but we missed the snow by one day.

Absolutely wonderful county! Is that a viaduct? It is a viaduct, it was built in 1875 and has a still used train line running over it. I just missed getting a picture of a train on it as I was driving the car while it was going over it.

It has the Leeds/Settle/Carlisle service that I think was once voted the most picturesque line in the country, it usually has a steam train pulling it too.

Awww, shame you missed the train on the viaduct, it's somewhere I keep promising myself to visit as it's been on so many programmes about railway journeys. Yorkshire probably always looks picturesque whatever the weather; your pics are fab. Did you indulge in any yorkshire puddings?

I didn’t but Mrs Wimp had one as a starter to her main meal.

No, Horace never met me... I didn’t but Mrs Wimp had one as a starter to her main meal. There is a restaurant in the dales that uses the puddings as starters, main meal and desserts ....

Lovely pic! And I'm jealous too - I adore thunderstorms and we hardly ever have them here
