There's a Halloween party?!!!! With a French theme, how revolutionary As if Hyde Park wasn't exciting enough, now I can paint my face green and wear strange black clothes and nobody will ask why. Thanks for the good wishes x

It was formidable, thanks! Been greeted back by BSJ too, hoping it's for good reasons and not that I have to fish her out of any dodgy situations she's gotten herself into. Great to see how busy the forum is, moving nicely onwards and upwards towards world domination Currently working my way methodically around, don't want to miss anything I can add my ramblings to.

Were you kicked out of Southern France - or did you leave because it was getting to be time for you to go?

I will admit to making a dignified exit, in case they revived the guillotine for excess consumption of red wine and patisserie and mangling the french language

unomusette, sometimes I feel I tend to ask too much about personal information from the forum members and risk offending them or thinking I invade their privacy, but I'm driven by the curiosity of knowing at least the most basic characteristics of whom I am talking to on a regular basis (mainly gender, age and nationality). What happens now is that I can't go on living in this world without knowing if you are a male or a female person (and it may also help me as well as others to avoid future mistakes).

No worries, I am a female just past my 50th birthday, from Wales in the UK. I feel all right about revealing my age here, on other forums I'm like the embarrassing elderly auntie, round here I suspect I'm not entirely alone. I am definitely NOT English, we Welsh are touchy about this. Bit like Canadians being mistaken for Americans. Hope this helps a bit, I'd hate to think of you leaving the planet on my account

Haha... thanks, but to tell the truth, I was not planning on leaving the planet. When I talked about "this world" I was referring to this virtual world of the forum, although even like that I was exaggerating a bit, because I wasn't really planning on leaving the forum either if you didn't reveal that to me. As for the Welsh, I am well aware that foreigners to the Islands must avoid at all costs the mistake of confusing you with the English (and same goes for Irish and Scotts). That is the little I know about Welsh people... that, and that they play rugby, are heavy drinkers, live between mountains, and Catherine Zeta Jones, Dave Edmunds, Gareth Bale and Ryan Giggs. As you see, my general knowledge is not huge, and clearly football-based. Hey, and being the elderly auntie of the forum is not embarassing. On the contrary, it is a necessary and well-respected role. Younger members tend to speak nonesense from time to time and in those cases it is very valuable to have an experienced voice to show them what's good.

'Funniest post made in a long while. One of these days you and the rest of us may come across someone who's both... on this very forum.
