I had a hard time deciding which CD to do, but finally chose this one.
Phil Collins---No Jacket Required(1985).
I probably played this album for a year straight when it was released. There are so many great tunes on here, that it's hard to pick just one favorite. You all know the big hits- Sussudio ; One More Night ; Don't Lose My Number ; and Take Me Home. The album tracks are just as good, with songs like Inside Out , and Long Long Way To Go, being standouts.
The album peaked at number one in nine countries, including the US and UK! It was also nominated for five Grammy's, including Album Of The Year, which it won.
For the uninitiated, here is the album in it's entirety.

Cool, nice pick for a CD; Brax. I forgot all about "Billy don't you lose my number...", looking forward to hearing that one again. Looking very forward to playing the whole CD throughout the week and providing my feedback. Definitely an enormous talent, Phil Collins is, for all the jokes anyone can make about how his stuff was played to death on the radio in the eighties. I remember radio stations used to say "OK, it's going to be a Phil-free weekend", because he was played so much. I believe his 80s hit parade started with "Against All Odds" and ended with "I Wish it Would Rain Down", and then there were the bazillions of hits in between, like the four you mentioned for "No Jacket Required", and I remember a b-side from one of those NJR singles "The Man With the Horn" being played on the radio a lot too. I've got a soft spot for Phil despite all the jokes about him. Looking forward to hearing the record.

Jim I think Phil's run of 80's solo hits began in 1981 with the ubiquitous In The Air Tonight. I don't know what The Man With The Horn is , but it's definitely not a Phil Collins song. I believe the B-side you're referring to is the beautiful We Said Hello, Goodbye. But I love this record. Take Me Home still resonates quite deeply with me, even after all these years. Great pick, Brax!

I didn’t buy this when it came out and I didn’t have to. From the radio to friends I was good. If I needed a fix, I knew where to go! I’m a sucker for Phil's drumming! I don’t like all songs but I think this is the next cd I will buy. It will be a nice background for friends & family parties. Enough time has passed so hopefully no one will be begging for mercy! It will be – Oh ya! Remember him! Is he still alive? Thanks, Brax! Is he?

Really enjoyed listening to the album thanks @brax. I must admit Phil's voice does grate on me after a while but it is a really good album, I wrote down Jolly, Atmospheric and Bouncy, while I was listening For some reason it brought back thoughts of my holidays to The South of France with my mates, that's a good thing, but I don't know why it popped into my head while listening

As far as drumming, I think I heard him say in an interview that his body is too shot to do that, because he was playing the drums the wrong way with all of his might all of those years, he did some damage to himself, so he can't do what he used to do. For the record, I'll be able to put on the headphones and hear the whole album and jot down thoughts I can later share, once I get back to work on Tuesday. Today is Monday, and the Labor Day holiday, here in the United States.

Oh man, I stand corrected! Sorry about that, Jim. And HERE is a great interview with Phil, from 2011. He talks about the backlash against him, during the 80's.

I really enjoyed the album. It is very 80s but that's no bad thing as Phil is one of the definitive 80s icons. Upbeat and a cohesive album. I my favourite track so far is 'Long Long Way To Go'.

Here he is from earlier this year, performing with a high school band in Florida.
