Oooh lucky you, my parents and my auntie and uncle are off to see Roy Wood at The Robin on 8th December, my mom wants to get there really early so she can get right to the front, she's only been waiting to see him since she was 15, she's very excited! Please inform us on how the concert went, looking forward to seeing lots of pictures!

I'm still at uni I think then, or they'll get me to baby sit our dogs either one of the two. I'm happy for them to go on their own, I can imagine me finding it a bit embarrassing my mother getting excited over Roy Wood, she was bad enough when we went to see Paul but I was just as bad so it didn't matter much to me haha

Hahaha no I mean the one and only Paul McCartney Didn't know the film Paul had some ELO songs in it, haven't watched the film but I know that for the film Shaun of the Dead, when they promoted it they copied the style of the photo for Face the Music, the one where they're pressed up against a window and Jeff looks possessed hahaha

I saw him tonight in Worthing & it was a really enjoyable evening. He's got a superb band which includes 4 wonderful sax players. What really struck me, apart from how much weight he's put on, was how completely opposite he is to Jeff in his stage persona. Right from the off he was completely at home joking with the audience and band memebers, taking the mickey out of himself & generally just having a really good laugh. He was in his element and had the crowd on their feet clapping and singing along.

wilko , did Roy sing anything that was unusual? Unexpected? I don't suppose 'Whisper in the Night' would exactly go with rockers like THE Christmas song.

Speaking of seeing Roy Wood at Christmas, my parents saw him at The Robin 2 in good old Bilston on 8th and they had a fab time, was rather jealous I missed out! But maybe next year. Thought I'd share with you a video I found on YouTube that was taken on the night of the concert and guess who was on it? Only my parents! Well my dad mostly,
Watch from 2:52 and look for an arm with a checked shirt, that's my dad! Famous again!

Hmmm, was it Mr Bl...only joking Great film, love the snow! What was it made of, paper? And I can highly recommend always taking some balloons to gigs to blow up and bat into the crowd usually just before the band is due on. People absolutely love playing with them and those nearby are usually happy to help inflate them. When we launched some for Muse in Newport people were capturing them, drawing or writing things on them and sending them on (I bet you can guess some of the more popular designs....the sort of thing boys draw when left to their own devices...) Really helps cheer folks up when the band should have come on about half an hour ago but are probably poncing about backstage instead.

Not sure, all I know is that my dad got bloody covered in that foam stuff at the end, as you can see! Think he got it the most! Think my mom's only criticism was that he wasn't on long enough! Think she said he was only on for an hour and a half?

Your dad was having it large, it looked great! I suppose Woody doesn't tour much so his onstage stamina might be a bit lacking. An hour and a half is about the going rate now anyway, despite the intergalactic ticket prices in big venues.

Haha I know, trust him to get the most foam! Well I suppose he is 70 but Paul does 2 hour long concerts then again he's used to touring extensively, I suppose Roy and Jeff aren't so much! Poor Jeff will be knackered come next July with all these new tour dates announced!
