Great photos, Horacewimp ! It looks like Malaga lived up to it's fame of being so sunny. It seems to have that characteristic Southern Spain magic with some heavy Moorish influence. I liked the patio with the fountain. What a pity the bullring, I think it's time for Spain to end with those barbaric practices. The banner says that Aberdeen Angus is undoubtedly the breed that produces the best meat, but that's not totally true -well, of course the Angus restaurant would say that-. My father breeds mostly Hereford cattle, but has had some Aberdeen Angus here and there. He says in terms of quality of the meat they are level but the Hereford are much more meek (probably in the same way an Englishman is more meek than a Scot ). The menu made me really hungry. Did you dance "Dancing Queen" by the pool with those two beauties?

Beautiful port and city, Horacewimp. Photos taken from your hotel room? Love the giant “sun catcher”. The gardens attached to the large building in photo just before the bullring? Neat shot of the window, too. Sunny is right. Have to think the citizens dispositions follow suit? No selfie with ladies in red? *tisk* (Sad the clunky purse lady on the left is wearing. Ruins that sleek look. )

Fantastic photos, Horacewimp, I can almost feel the sun myself. Was that view of the harbour from your hotel? I'm with Helmut83 about the menu bringing on hunger pangs, even though I've just finished me tea. If anyone fancies sharing the mixed grill for two I'll be there with my bib on. I really like the way they've made sure there's some greenery and fountains to break up the view and bring on some coolness, those southern types do know a thing or two about design. Bet you had an awesome time anyway, thanks for letting us share it

Most of the high up shots are taken from the roof bar/pool area of the hotel, our hotel was the highest in the city and so was popular with residents and non residents alike. It was great to watch people as they stepped out onto the roof, you could see them saying wow.
The gardens with the rows of trees is a park, there were loads of parrots in the palm trees. The other gardens are at the Alcazaba.
If you look at the Cathedral in the foreground you will see an unfinished tower, there were going to be two but only one was built. There were funds raised to finish it but they were used instead to help the United States to gain their independence from Great Britain. This unfinished state has led to the Cathedral being called "La Manquita","The One-Armed Lady"

Or, I should have written Malaga. All these years, left as a reminder.

Where would BSJ be without the funds from "La Manquita"? Maybe not even conceived, who knows?

It was a long weekend queenofthehours early Friday morning flight out and late Sunday evening back. It seemed a much longer break than a few days.
