Thanks, queenofthehours! I've just downloaded a software to help my overrated producing abilities. Apparently it will enhance my voice and correct the deviations from the notes that the vocals take has. I'll try it on this song, let's see if it's as good as it's promotion says.

This is the first song of mine i've posted on here so i hope you like it. I've been writing and recording stuff for years. It was my good mate tedblight who showed me the wonders of Garageband and it opened up a whole new world for me. I'll probably be posting more of my stuff on here so don't say i didn't warn you.

Great tune, I love the piano work and the rhythm of the beat. It’s a proper ear worm of a song.

Must agree, you can hear the ELO influence and there's also a Mike Batt element which is never a bad thing

Thanks for those kind words and thanks for taking the time to have a listen. The ultimate praise is when someone says there’s "an ELO influence”. I’ll be dining out on that for a while. Agree with regard to Mike Batt. I always feel he and Jeff are somehow on the same page musically.

I was thinking about something original to say, but the reference to ELO's influence in your song is inevitable, eloandy. You are a proper Jeff Lynne pupil. Nice melody, very catchy poppy song. Well done!

Well done! Thanks for having a listen and for your kind comments. I have had several listens to your brilliant composition 'Time Is Running'. I love the laid back, western type feel. It put me in mind of 'Ben Crawley Steel Company' From 'Message From The Country'. Love the harmonica and that great guitar solo. Also, thanks for commenting on 'Momma' over on ELO covers.

Thanks, eloandy , glad you liked the song! Funny, you are not the first one who is reminded of "Ben Crawley" by it. My recording techniques and equipment (a 10 dollar Genius mic for all instruments) are infinitely inferior to yours, and my laziness is infinitely superior, as I've downloaded a software to tune the voice and never used it , but I'm glad you were able to "visualize" the song beneath it's deficient recording and production. Looking forward to hearing more original stuff from you.

Thought you might like to hear this. It's a bit of a family effort. I wrote the music, my eldest daughter Rebecca wrote the lyrics, (take a bow Bex), and my son Matthew joined me on backing vocals in the Chorus, (take a bow Matty). Hope you enjoy it.

Great song, eloandy, mostly upbeat but with a slight melancholic aftertaste here and there, a bit like what the song is about: someone being able to make you both glad and sad. Very good melody and I like the way the last phrase ofthe chorus concludes.

Very good melody and I like the way the last phrase ofthe chorus concludes. Thanks for listening and your kind comments. I’ve never been a massive fan of writing lyrics so I ‘collared’ my eldest and talked her into doing it. The only stipulation I laid down was the title. I said “you can write what you want but it has to be called this, cos it fits”. I’m glad I did. Thanks again for having a listen.

Me again. This is an instrumental i recently wrote and recorded. tedblight very kindly agreed to do the intro and outro 'bookends', 'thanks Ted'. I really enjoy doing instrumentals cos it means i don't have to chisel out any lyrics, never an easy task. Hope you enjoy it.
