I came across the 24k gold CD of ottd in a record shop years ago and bought it for a fiver. Its beautifully clear sound, but I've never seen another. Interesting to know, I always assumed that gold records (is your gold disc one of those that was awarded for a certain amount of sales?) were unplayable and sometimes if they were playable, the disc was random music!

its not a gold record, its a 24k gold cd, the disk is just like any other cd, but the coating is actually gold instead of silver, apparently it gives better clarity of playback.

And though its not an album, I've a copy of the single of do ya by the move. I've the US promo of this. About fell on my knees when seeing it. Dealer sold it to me for $4.00 (about 3.00 pound)
It's the B side of the US "California Man".

Did the red, white and blue only OLE ELO promos (US) come ONLY in plain covers? I have a white vinyl one and two gold ones. Both gold have the B&W OLE ELO promo cover. One of the discs is pretty worn, but the cover is very nice. I was tempted to swap it to the white one. BUT, I have yet to see a photo or mention of those R, W & B ones having anything other than plain covers. I did not want to try and mislead anyone if the non-gold ones only came in plain white or black sleeves. One person online said his white one came in a generic black cover (like in the photo I see online). I asked on another ELO website, but no answer yet. I sure don't see any images or mention of the cover 'situation' specifically. Mine was sold to me with a plain white cover. I had two copies of the blue vinyl A NEW WORLD RECORD US promo LP. Sold the lesser one tonight. Still need to see if I put some inner sleeves SOMEWHERE else, as I don't even see the original FTM one with the normal LP. Have the disc in a poly lined 'collector' sleeve. The original HAS to be somewhere. The cover and inner sleeves on ANWR (promo) only had the corner cut...nothing that distinguishes them from the original commercial release. I can give up the inner sleeve from my regular version if nothing else. Don't see many used record places in town anymore to look for ELO LP's cheap to get another inner sleeve. Need to look through the last three big flat drawers I have that I keep some collectible stuff in. Always stumble across stuff I forgot I had. I was hardcore into ELO in college and beyond! I'm 64 now (AAAGGGHHH!!!!).

wuzit10538 you might have been to this site that has the yellow OLE ELO in the picture sleeve cover. outoftheblueartifacts.com/category/elo-albums/ole-elo/page/2/My understanding is that cut corners usually mean the record didn't sell so it was marked as overstock to be sold cheaper. Some cut corners are Promos but there would be a sticker to identify it as such.

Cut-outs (corner cut), notches cut in the jacket, BB holes denote cut-out records. Some promo LP's do only have the same covers and are not stamped (a LOT are). These both have a smaller curved cut instead of a straight cut. One curves in and the other the opposite way (rounded). Have some other promo LP's from back in the day (FACE THE MUSIC, SECRET MESSAGES) and they have stickers, markings, notations...
Have various promo 45's and a few MOVE ones. Still have a round ANWR store display promo that lights up and is the size of an auto tire. It has a light bulb inside and you plug it in. The transparent ELO logo images were peeling some around the edges when I got it. I put clear packing tape over some areas to preserve them. I was afraid to try plastic spray as that layer of the image might have just pulled up/bubbled up/reacted. It's not perfect, but very rare. Have not hung it up in many years and need to take photos. Still have my inflatable ELO II bulb that I will keep. LOVE IT!
Have sold all of my mobiles I think.

I’ve got the purple Sweet Talkin’ Woman on 45 too! I also have the Doin’ That Crazy Thing 12in single and the soundtrack to Electric Dreams on vinyl. Oh, and I have a TIME promo 12in record that has the Pre-Release Montage and Hold On Tight that I got for like $3 (I thought I had a bunch of cool stuff but y’all have more than outdone me!) (I’ve only been on this planet for 19 years so I guess I’m doing okay in the collection department) I’d love to find more 45’s with picture sleeves. I only have a couple ELO ones (tons of Queen ones though)

What?! I didn't know there was a Doin’ That Crazy Thing 12" single! I was pretty surprised to find it, especially for as cheap as I got it for ($6.99 fits perfectly into my budget!)! It’s not in perfect condition (I honestly wouldn’t expect it to be after all this time), but I’m very glad to have it! Attachment DeletedAttachment Deleted
