Xanadu on Radio 2 this morning cheered me up as I was having a rubbish day.
Oh and after it was played someone said it was Marllyn Mansons favourite song.

I once was watching the special features "the making of" Hellboy Two, and the director was describing the vapors of the Johahn Kraus character, and says "like ELO - A Living Thing"

Just watched "Kingpin" for the umpteenth time, and this scene is still the best use of ELO music in any movie, ever....

Peter Kay's Car Share on the BBC just featured 'Xanadu' - I don't know why but that song and Mr Kay seem to go together well.

Not sure if this story belongs in the Sights And Sounds section, but here goes. As some of you may know, my job is subtitling telly programmes. Usually news and sport, but lately they've been training some of us up to do stuff like chat and cookery shows, etc. Today, with my nice Scottish trainer, we practised subtitling music shows like Later With Jools Holland. After going over the basic house styles with me, Scottish trainer said: "Now I'm going to get you to subtitle a song of your choice. I think I know which band you'll choose." (We'd had a chat about music beforehand.) So I subtitled Mr Blue Sky as the video clip played on my computer screen. The trouble is, when you use voice recognition software, however clearly you speak, the machine is going to get it wrong sometimes. So the lyrics "I'll remember you this way..." appeared on screen as: "I remember the use of this thing..." Scottish trainer nearly fell off his chair laughing when he read this. Thankfully, my subtitle hadn't specified exactly what thing Jeff had remembered the use of. Just hope his lawyers never find out.

Better not specify anything... You can always count on a good laugh when using voice recognition. Those funny sentences always happen.
