Africa came out the winner of round 15, and moves on to the next level.
Our final round of the Mellow 32 is here, and it's Steve Winwood's 1986 light rock favorite Higher Love up against Barry Manilow's huge hit song about a girl named Mandy. Remember to vote in the poll or your vote won't count!

OMG! NO contest here! I love "Higher Love" --and just about everything else I've heard by Steve Winwood!

I don’t like many Marry Banilow songs but of the ones I do Mandy is my favourite so gets my vote.

I'm no Barry fan but I'm not above swanning around the house singing 'Mandy' even if the only words of the song I know are "oh" and "Mandy".
I have to vote for Steve however because I really do like his songs.

While I love a lot of Steve Winwood's work, Higher Love is just kind of ok. In the context of what we're voting for, here, Mandy is the better soft rock song.

Yikes. These are rough. I would be lying if I said I enjoyed either song. Chippa how ARE you choosing these !? I voted for Mandy because I hate it less.

I voted for Mandy because I hate it less. hahaha, well basically I went through some soft rock compilations and picked 32 that I thought represented a nice variety of music. Then I copy the list from a Microsoft Word doc, and paste them onto random.org. Very scientific method, huh? haha. I guess I could have picked another 32 and had a 64 song tournament, but I don't think anyone really wants that.

I am voting for the song but sometimes, if it's a tie, whether you like the artist or not is the tiebreaker. I'm not over keen on either song but voted for 'Higher Love' mainly because its one of those tunes you hear on the radio and sing along to without knowing who the artist is. Until now I didn't even consider 'Mandy' a rock song, soft or otherwise, at all!

I swear The Yacht Rock channel on Sirius uses both of those CDs, but with a ton of Doobie Bro's, Mikey McDonald and Christopher Cross thrown in. It's a channel you can only listen to maybe once a week or you'll go mad.
No! I do not like Pina Coladas! Stop asking me!
