Thanks, queenofthehours! Glad you liked them. I've always said "Summer and Lightning" should have been a single, maybe it's not too late and one of these pics could feature in the cover?

totally random question - but is anyone noticing that kosher places are disappearing? I like a good bagel or the occasional corned beef on rye. Today after church, Mrs Orioles said she wanted a cinnamon bagel. So I drive over to our favorite bagel shop, been going there for 20 years. Closed, empty, no sign of having changed location, broken down car with a shredded tire in front. Oh well, onto to option 2, just a mile back down the same road. Also closed for good. Oy Vey!! on to option 3, couple miles across town. Closed again!!! By this time we are hungrier and made a full circle to the small Italian grocery near church - they make whatever you want. 2 ham, egg and cheddar bagels to go please.
are the low carb and gluten free trends to blame? or the higher costs and lower volume of kosher shops? think I read a couple years back that kosher delis were also struggling to stay open which means I'll have to go Irish rather than kosher if I want to find some corned beef for dinner tonight
just my area or is there a world wide kosher apocalypse? I know there are much bigger problems. but that's why I need my comfort foods!

We have a Barry Bagels. Closest restaurant to a kosher. Their bagels are good. It's not the first place I'd go for a corned beef on rye, though. We've used them to cater some of our holidays and party's.

Honestly, I've never been a kosher food consumer so I couldn't tell. All I can say is that Armenian food has proliferated a lot around here.

Just realised. Closing the forum pub every night could be tricky. Woody would have to play the whole of "Time" before he could add "... gentlemen, please". Maybe we should just have lock-ins, instead?!

Very funny! And informative. Had no clue what is all in steak and kidney pie or what black pudding really is. Have had scotch eggs, wicked good. A friend use to make them. Love me a shepard’s pie. Make it once in a great while. I cannot for the life of me understand bake beans with eggs. Guess I need to try it. The only thing I can equate this to is putting ketchup on eggs. Unconsumable. The spotted dick, jam roly poly and black pudding are just plain bizarre. Tea with sugar and milk? What is wrong with you people?! Have you eaten all of these dishes?

Apart from the eels I’ve had them all and some quite regularly. Love black pudding goes great with a breakfast of eggs, beans and sausage. Had toad in the hole last week, Yorkshire puddings every time we have a roast, Shepard’s pie often but usually Cottage Pie (beef mince, Shepard’s is lamb), sausage rolls often from Greggs the bakers, the puddings are what my Mum brought us up on and you need milk in tea.

Yorkshire (my home county) puddings are made basically the same as pancakes or crepes (that French imitation). You have cream, jam, syrup or whatever on pancakes so yes, they are technically a pudding even though I have gravy on mine
