Horacewimp and other devoted fans of beer: I saw on TV this morning that today is National Lager Day in the US... www.wtnh.com/news/national/it-s-national-lager-day-/1649933304The things you learn when you're stuck at home on a snow day!! I think I discovered the Elvis Dixie cup guy in January during our last snow storm, watching local cable news all day! lol

True to his word, Roy signs his name on the rooftop in an effort to persuade Santa to stay.

Liven up your Christmas shopping with a bit of shop art. The letters originally spelled LOVE, but the owner was most understanding when I explained. (I promised to give a credit to her shop: "Rocket And Wolf", in Twickenham. The Rocket part, most fitting for a spaceship band. Not sure how the Wolf relates to ELO though - Bev's football team maybe? Or our lost comrade, Wolfie?)

Not sure how the Wolf relates to ELO though - Maybe a reference to Roy Wood's hairiness? He did look like a wolfman more often than not.

Just had to show you this. Look at this fab Christmas card that my friend in work made for me. Someone knows what I like! And when I opened the card, this was what I found inside... I'll leave you to guess what was behind the Advent Calendar door beneath the mistletoe.

Another special Christmas moment happened last Friday. It was the last day of work before the holidays.
In our office, we have a group of deaf colleagues, who do the sign language interpretation of the news and other programmes, on TV. They all sit in their corner of the office and tend to stick together all the time, communicating with each other in sign language.
I've sort of got to know one of the deaf ladies a bit when we've met in the kitchen, so last Friday I made her a Christmas card and took it over to her desk. You should have seen her face light up. She mimed "Is this for me? Can I open it? Did you make this?" and gave me a massive hug. And then she taught me to sign "Happy Christmas" and "Happy New Year" in sign language.
Breaking down that barrier, even for just a couple of minutes, was amazing. Now I want to learn more sign language.
Which got me thinking, so I had a look on YouTube, and these are two of the videos I found. Couldn't find any British ones, though.
Drat, I was hoping to learn how to sign "please turn me over"!
Couldn't help wondering how to sign "groooss"...
