Here's info about the campaign to get fans in involved in the making of three new music videos Queen are creating to celebrate 'Bohemian Rhapsody' reaching 1B views on YouTube.
www.youarethechampions.com/ For musicians and singers there is the opportunity to be a part of a new 'BoRhap' video. Here's what the website says - Submit a video of you playing or singing the song. You can do the whole thing or your favorite section. Use any instrument, with any number of performers, and give it everything you’ve got!
For dancers, there's an instructional video created Rami Malek's movement coach to learn this dance for 'Don't Stop Me Now' -
The website says you can - learn the dance, perform it, and record it. You can focus on one section or do the entire dance.
And for visual artists there the chance to work on 'A Kind of Magic' - Choose one word or phrase from the song's lyrics and design something personalized. Paint, draw, animate - whatever you'd like to do - then upload an image or movie of your work. If you'd prefer to create something for the instrumentals, animate a 5-second section that speaks to you. I know there are plenty of excellent musicians here on our forum who could easily send something great into the project and some artists too. But are there any brave dancers? There isn't a rule that says you even have to be a big Queen fan to join in! And who wouldn't want their work to appear in a video watched by what could be millions of people around the world?
Ahem.... elophile What do you think? First our young friends in California win the meet and greet sweepstakes, and then maybe you could win this great visual art competition! Go for it!! (Didn't you say you were a great dancer, too? ) And you, too, BIuebird Go for it! And the lucky sisters in California might have another stroke of good fortune with this, too!

Submissions are open for the Queen campaign. August 1st - August 18th at 11:59pm ET.
I hope somebody from our forum has a go at submitting something because luck and creativity is something we here seem to be good at! And you'd get the chance to be in an official video too.
It's a shame Jeff hasn't organised anything like this for ELO. Wouldn't we all love it if somebody designed an official dance to go with 'MBS' or 'DBMD'? Then we'd all develop coherent movements instead of that weird flailing of limbs that everybody does when they try to dance to Jeff.

The Queen video campaign closes on Sunday if anybody wants to get involved. According to this, they are in great need of bassists and percussionists for the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' video, visual artists for the 'A Kind Of Magic' video and dancers for the 'Don't Stop Me Now' video.

If they are low on submissions in these areas that means there is a very good chance of being featured!

My new favourite Queen song! -
For some reason that little bass bit at 1:35/1:36 reminds me strongly of something ELO-ish, possibly Secret Messages era, but I can't tell what. It just sounds to me like a noise you might hear ELO make. It's funny how only a couple of innocent notes made by one band can remind you of another.

This is a fun, if somewhat incongruous, way to beat the winter blues. And it just goes to show that 'Mr Blue Sky' is suitable for all occasions -
I suppose it isn't all that incongruous really, there is the Mack/Musicland connection after all.

I just stumbled upon this little Bohemian Rhapsody quiz -
You have to try to remember every word from the entire song. It takes some time to complete but time is what we are supposed to have more of these days!

That was fun! I messed up more times from rushing through and accidentally hitting the wrong answer than from the words I've always misheard/never caught

'Bohemian Rhapsody' has been voted the UK's favourite song according to a Sony poll. It won with 43% of the votes -
'Don't Stop Me Now' came second.
However, you might want to see what came in at number eight...

the one at #8 isn't the one I hoped it would be, but at least our band made the list (and the top 10)!

As always, these lists are subjective. I would never have put DSMN at number 2 (or even the top 100 for that matter...) Amy Winehouse? Adele? give me a break please!
