I agree about some of it being rehashed, but it was indeed an interesting read, thanks dillwyn

But what was Bev thinking with those boots in the initial group pic?

But what was Bev thinking with those boots in the initial group pic? Probably "if I'm considered cool enough to pull this off then we've made it".

Good read, and as you said, Dillwyn, it has a few things I haven't read before.
Who is Sharon Osbourne (other than a "daughter of" or "wife of") and why does she spending a lot at the shopping or getting bored by ELO is relevant to ELO's story? The article speaks too much about her for my taste.

Helmut83 If I remember correctly, her father, Don Arden, turned over management of ELO to her as a birthday gift. I'm not sure how much she really was in charge, though.

Coincidentally, I'm reading Sharon Osbourne's (nee Arden) autobiography at the moment and I'm just coming on to the ELO bit. What I have learned is that Don Arden only started making serious money when he took ELO on, before that it was a lot of pretending to be rich and successful and trying to dodge the bailiffs. She does speak fondly of Roy Wood though

Well, she's just about to go on tour with ELO in 1977 so this will be the first time she speaks of them. Don Arden managed The Move so Roy came into the story early. Just before this though, some record execs at United Artists in America swindled the rights to ELO's earlier stuff off Don and they flooded the market with pretty much bootlegs of everything up to and including Out of The Blue in such a way that the band received zero royalties. Don had been colluding with them in the past to syphon money out of UA but there was no honour amongst thieves it seems.
