this one isn't quite as random as it might seem
the band is Socrates Drank the Conium a Greek power pop band from the '70s where Rick Miller (later P Hux, later ELO part II) lived as a teen he cites the guitarist (Yanni Spathas) as a major influence
this one is a prog rocker if you don't want to listen to the whole thing, check out the section starting around the 5:19 mark actually reminds me of an American band called "Crack the Sky"

here is a sample of Crack the Sky
and P Hux's earliest single
both of these have bits in common with that Socrates song

Heard this one from Andrew Bird on the radio today. Reminds me a bit of Beautiful South. Nice string parts, too.
little bit of trivia - Andrew has perhaps the only other album (besides Jeff) with "Armchair" in the title.

My recent nostalgia trips through YouTube lead me to Bagatelle, a brilliant Irish band in the late 70's and early 80's. Their music is as good and fresh today as it was in the last century...
Trump Card - I'd forgotten just how good this one was.
Summer In Dublin - a great song, a massive hit in the summer of 1980.
Second Violin
Love Is The Reason
Leeson Street Lady - I didn't know whether I should include this one. I have - it's a terrific, thought-provoking song.

I know we've got some Hall & Oates fans on the forum. Here's a cover by a favorite band. Who says it has to be sung by a guy? Rachael does it right.

an old one from P Hux - great lyrics about how our view of love evolves as we mature one of those songs that "should have been" a hit
