I've been reading all about Don Airey and discovered he was an ELO Part 2 member. I wasn't aware of this because I don't think too hard about ELO 2. Despite them having more original ELO members than the current ELO line-up I don't agree with bearded people singing ELO songs who aren't Jeff.
Anyway, Don is a current member of Deep Purple, replacing Jon Lord (as if anyone could). However, I have discovered that not only has this man played with Black Sabbath, Whitesnake, Cozy Powell and Rainbow he is the only ELO member of any kind to have won the Eurovision Song Contest: He arranged and played on 'Love Shine a Light' by Katrina and the Waves and also conducted the accompanying orchestra on the big night.
Here's Don taking over from Louis with ELO II in Argentina (beat those bongos Bev!) -

Don Airey was also a member of Jethro Tull in 1987/88 on their tour for the "crest of a knave" album...

Sadly bad things have happened to the UK once again in the Eurovision Song Contest.
If only our own Eurovision-superhero, ELO Part 2's Don Airey, had been there... Look out for him at the start of this video preparing to conduct the orchestra.
Not bad for a song that The Samaritans didn't want www.thehighwaystar.com/interviews/airey/da-feb082004.html
